Boston River Run - Annual Brighton 5K Event

The Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) public charitable organization founded to honor the life of Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus, a U.S. Marine from Sudbury, Massachusetts. The organization's mission is to generate funds through traditional fundraising activities and endow scholarships at Massachusetts community colleges.

The Boston River Run 5K event was created to benefit the Andrew Graham Semper Fi Fund. In it's 3rd annual year,  a scholarship was endowed at Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School in Andrew's name.

The new goal is to endow a scholarship at Bunker Hill Community College in honor of Corporal Andrew Graham Narcus.

BRR photos - including logos that I designed

As part of the volunteer team since year 0, I worked with the founder to create (and evolve) the logo for both the fund and run. See below!

Main requirements were to feature a man running with a flag with the Boston skyline and a river. The first logo featured a hand-drawn skyline that was shaded using Photoshop. As the event grew, we realized one place that we could save costs was to minimize the number of colors featured in the logo below for T shirt printing. With this direction, I modernized the look and feel and created a more 'flat' looking design with all of the same recognizable elements from years before. We're looking forward to featuring the new logo at this year's run!
